Guidance Counselor - Part-Time or Full-Time
Caskey Torah Academy is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our collaborative student support team for the 2026–2027 school year. This position may be part-time or full-time and offers a competitive salary and benefits.
We are looking for a compassionate, team-oriented professional who is passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioral growth within a nurturing school environment. New graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
Position Overview
The Guidance Counselor will primarily support students in grades 1–8, with some involvement in the Early Childhood program. The counselor will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and the broader guidance team to promote student well-being and a supportive school culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to students
- Teach and support implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum
- Facilitate peer mediation and conflict resolution
- Observe students in classroom settings to assess behavioral and emotional needs
- Document observations and student progress using professional/clinical standards
- Lead small groups, including lunch bunches and social skills groups
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective classroom interventions
- Serve as a liaison between school and home regarding student support and progress
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, student-centered school culture
- Mentor Year 1 and Year 2 Social Work Interns
- Work collaboratively as part of the guidance and student support team
- Adhere to all school policies and professional standards
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or in progress) in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Relevant internship or fieldwork experience in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with SEL instruction preferred
- Commitment to supporting children within a values-based educational environment
