Rabbi Zecharia Weitz
Since joining CTA in 2019 as the assistant principal for Judaic Studies, Rabbi Weitz has enhanced the level of Torah with the introduction of new curriculum, learning and mitzvah initiatives, and thoughtful leadership for the Judaic Studies Department.
Rabbi Weitz received semicha from Ner Israel Rabbinical College and a master’s in school counseling from Johns Hopkins University. He has also completed YU Lead, the Principals Training Institute (CoJDS), mentorship training through the Jewish New Teachers Program, and Harvard’s Principals Institute through the Legacy Heritage Foundation.
Before joining CTA, Rabbi Weitz taught at Columbus Torah Academy for twelve years and assumed the role of coordinator of upper school Judaic studies for eight of those. At Columbus Torah Academy, Rabbi Weitz had the opportunity to teach boys and girls ranging from seventh to twelfth grade and the full gamut of Judaic studies topics. Also during his time in Columbus, Rabbi Weitz served the community as director of inreach for Beth Jacob Congregation, creating educational programs and assisting the senior rabbi with the community’s lifecycle events.
In addition to his role at CTA, Rabbi Weitz served as the Director of CoJDS’s Lilmod U’Lelamed new teacher’s induction program from 2020–2025.
